Review: June beauty favorites

I have been obsessed with these products lately, so I just had to share them with you. These products have made my makeup routine easier and it’s worth the money.

1. Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation ($39USD)

tarte

My shade: Tan Deep Honey

YAY: The best part about this foundation is that it provides sun protection, it has buildable coverage and it feels very light weight. It has non-chemical sunscreen filters and fragrance free so it is great for those with acne or acne prone skin. It also provides a powdery finish for normal to oily skin. And because of its buildable coverage, I wear it as a BB cream as well as a full coverage foundation. The most popular shades are Fair, Ivory (both excellent for very light skin tones), Light, Tan, and Tan Deep. Light Medium is slightly peach while Medium has a yellow tinge that requires careful inspection in daylight to ensure it matches well. The darkest shade (Deep) is slightly orange but you can work around it. This is a must-have.

NAYIt is pricey; sometimes it can be difficult to blend

2. Artist Couture by Angel Merino in Mermaid Fantasy ($26.99USD)

YAY: This shade is one of the best highlighters I have ever seen. Its turquoise shimmer gives it its unique look. It is long-wearing and the shimmer can be intensified by Fix + spray. I also use this as an eyeshadow as well. The color is payoff is great and a little goes a long way.

NAY: It is pricey for a small amount

3. MakeupGeek Eyeshadow pan in Mermaid ($5.99USD)

YAY: I can’t begin to express how much I love MUG eyeshadows in general and Mermaid is no exception. The quality is amazing, and it looks good on any skin tone. It’s so creamy and can be intensified with Fix +.

NAY: You would need a Z palette for an e/s pan

4. Anastasia Beverly Hills contour refill in Carob ($14USD)

contour

YAY: I had been searching for the perfect contour shade for medium to dark skin tones without that muddy look. This refill is not only the perfect shade but it is long wearing and a little goes a long way.

NAY: You would need a palette to store the refills

5. LA GIRL Pro Conceal in Orange ($5USD)

concealer

YAY: These PRO Conceals are very much comparable to the Prolong wear concealers. It is full coverage and very creamy. This corrector in particular, helps get rid of hyperpigmentation and dark circles, and a little does go a long way because it is very pigmented.

NAY: The packaging can sometimes make you lose a lot of product

6. Smashbox Photo Finish primer ($36USD)

primer

YAY: This primer is life!! It really keeps your makeup on all night, tried and tested! It also creates such a smooth base which makes makeup easy to apply. It doesn’t clog your pores like some primers and isn’t oily. It works especially for rough skin textures.

NAY: It’s pricey

7. MAC sized to go pigment in Rose ($10USD)

 mac1

YAY: These pigments are out of this world pigmented and the specs of gold and rose gold throughout this pigment is insane. I only use a little at a time and it goes along way. It works just for a pop of color and is great for prom and special events. Depending on the angle and lighting, you might see several colors coming out of this one pigment. I also love this cute size because I can take it everywhere and it fits snug in my kit.

NAY: Pigments can be a little messy

8. The makeup bulle($14.95)

makeupb

YAY: This product is a must-have for makeup artists as well as makeup enthusiasts on the go. It blends from cream to powder in an instant and because it fits snug on your finger, it makes getting hard to reach corners, easier. The texture of the bullet is similar to the Beauty Blender so you know the quality is great. You just pop it on your finger and blend. The size is also pretty universal so no need to worry. Quick and simple; the price isn’t too bad either considering you would have it for a long time.

NAY: You may need to dampen it a bit to blend creams

9. House of Lashes in Siren ($9USD)

siren

YAY: HOS lashes have awesome quality because they’re made with 100% human hair. It’s so wispy and flirty but at the same time it looks really natural. You can wear these for any occasion and with the right glue, it lasts all night long. #LASHGAMESTRONG

NAY: For lashes, they can be pricey, but it’s worth it trust me

10. Urban Decay All-Nighter Makeup Setting Spray ($30USD)

ud

YAY: I saved the best for last. OMG, THIS IS THE BEST SETTING SPRAY EVER!!! I used this for the first time at 2pm, I went outdoors until 7pm and then went to a concert and got home at 2am and makeup didn’t crease and I didn’t look oily at all. I was so surprised because not even my Fix + spray or Model in a Bottle does that. This spray is amazing and I would highly recommend it.

NAY: The price, but its totally worth every penny

I hope you enjoyed my June favorites, comment below which are your favs or anything you would like me to review next…
